Wt 4.5.0 & 3.7.1 released

We just released Wt 4.5.0 (and Wt 3.7.1).

This release changes the targeted C++ standard from C++11 to C++14. We also marked the Firebird Dbo backend as unmaintained. It depends on IBPP, which appears to have been abandoned. We’ve also added <trusted-proxy-config> to more finely configure Wt when behind a reverse proxy, and deprecated <behind-reverse-proxy>.

More information in the release notes.

The fact that there hasn't been a release in a while has made it pretty big. I also have some other things to do as well, so I think we're sadly still looking at an August release at the earliest.

C++20?

We're not going to depend on C++20, if that's what you're asking. We're still targeting at least C++14.
There have been fixes for issues that appear when compiling with the C++20 standard with various compilers, though.
We also added the ability to use std::chrono's calendar and time zone support instead of the date library. It's not currently enabled by default, though.
More support for certain C++20 features is something for later, though.
The main features this time around are the addition of a Bootstrap 4 and 5 theme and a redesign of the widget gallery, SAML support (commercial license only), and a way to make easy forms based on Dbo.

Thanks for reply. Nice to know this framework. It was fun to work with.
C++ people are performance focus. WT need to compete in techempowerment. I can't convince people to continue using this library without TE benchmark. Is it possible to just make a fast version of Wt by disabling some features like text sanitizer?. Maybe just summit it as Platform instead of Framework.
